Hi,

in our documentation section you should find nearly everything you need: http://netsparkle.codeplex.com/documentation

You do not need an XML in the local program folder, we compare the version information of your entry assembly (defined in Assembly.cs) and compare this with the available versions in the XML based app cast. The used app cast is standard and does not differ from the used one in the Sparkle project on the MAC platform.

Cheers

so ok now i understand better, so where is an example of xml appcast:
i have found one on this link :
https://github.com/andymatuschak/Sparkle/blob/master/Sample%20Appcast.xml
but seems so big
is it enough just this part:

Your Great App's Changelog

Most recent changes with links to updates.

Version 2.0 (2 bugs fixed; 3 new features)
<sparkle:releaseNotesLink> http://you.com/app/2.0.html </sparkle:releaseNotesLink>

one more question how do o sign my exe with the dsa signature as this is a need to distribute it over net sprakle

i run NetSparkleChecker.Net40 says need a path to the application executable how do i "gave it" ? and then run NetSparkleDSAHelper appears cmd but desapears then, i'm trryng to run it froma diffrent place than where im exe is so may i copy this 2 files to the bin folder and then run them? both or just one , or on wich order?

Hi,

ok the simplest app-cast is available here: http://update.applimit.com/netsparkle/versioninfo.xml, just download it!

And the luncher can be used as follows if you use our latest code from the trunk branch (not released yet): NetSparkleChecker.Net40.exe "<<PATH TO YOUR MAIN EXE FILE>>" "<<<URL OF APPCAST>>"

Hope this helps!

but seems so big
is it enough just this part:

Hi,

in our documentation section you should find nearly everything you need: http://netsparkle.codeplex.com/documentation

You do not need an XML in the local program folder, we compare the version information of your entry assembly (defined in Assembly.cs) and compare this with the available versions in the XML based app cast. The used app cast is standard and does not differ from the used one in the Sparkle project on the MAC platform.

Cheers
Dirk

Hi,

ok the simplest app-cast is available here: http://update.applimit.com/netsparkle/versioninfo.xml, just download it!

And the luncher can be used as follows if you use our latest code from the trunk branch (not released yet): NetSparkleChecker.Net40.exe "<<PATH TO YOUR MAIN EXE FILE>>" "<<<URL OF APPCAST>>"

Hope this helps!
Dirk
